I am a Metallica fan, I enjoy ALL of their music. Although St. Anger was disappointing, I still look forward to this album and I will still purchase it like I have with every previous album. Their post ...And Justice For All work is indeed different, but in my opinion it is ignorant to hate on the band for changing their style. They did what they wanted to do, and if that is "shit" in your opinion, well... that's just your opinion, there's plenty of us that still like it :) And yeah, I do think the cover art is a bit weak. Better than St. Anger though, imo.

Pfft. People don't like Metallica for more than just their style change. The riffs have become rudimentary. James' vocals are now a gimmick. Lars has got to be the worst drummer in metal today. Kirk's solos have diminished greatly. The only thing they really have going for them is their monkey of a bass player, but I'm sure they don't let him contribute much (it's apparent that it's James band in their little documentary for St. Anger).

Honestly, for me, the guitars are a huge letdown/difference (of course), but equally as heartbreaking are the vocals. Many people point out the music, the production, even lyrics... but Hetfield's voice is just so unbelievably weird now. Granted, it's not like he was the most passionate vocalist of all time, but when I hear newer stuff, I don't picture the long-haired, snarling Hetfield of old. I picture the short-haired, near rockabilly-style James of new, standing smugly in front of thousands of mindless fans. Oh well. I'm sure I'll be arguing in In Flames' favor until they call it quits though, so I really can't say much... hell, I'm already doing that now.

I personally never been a huge fan of the Metallica artwork.I feel it's too straight forward.But one thing's for sure.Their first 4 albums did kill us all.But seein this new artwork,Jesus Christ,I feel Ulrich has to get his balls reattached.Wat the hell are these guys doin man?I want them to get back to their thrash metal roots.

To sum up "St. Anger" PANG PANG PANG PANG PANG PANG PANG *GAY VOCALS* PANG PANG PANG PANG PANG PANG PANG *GAY VOCALS* To Death Magnetic now. I sincerely hope that they'll go back to albums like RtL and AJFA. Those are the only two albums I've ever cared for. I heard some samples of riffs and drums alone and it seems that they may go back to the good 'ole days.
