PANG PANG PANG PANG PANG PANG PANG *GAY VOCALS* PANG PANG PANG PANG PANG PANG PANG *GAY VOCALS* LOL Lars (Drummer) = Same old shit with the same beat for every single song. Ever since they got so fucking sue happy with everyone I have refused to buy any of their newer stuff because it sucks, everything after the black album sucks. I find it funny that when Metallica gets pissed off about people downloading their music via (P2P or torrent or whatever) they get royally pissed but other artists such as Kid Rock has said to steal his stuff, because if some people look at the bigger picture, those who download the album will end up buying it. At least thats what my friends and I do and I hope that mostly everyone else does the same. Why buy an album that you haven't heard yet, because it sucks to find out that you blew 18 bucks on a turd album when you thought that it would be good (hence Slipknots new album, I thought it would be good but it turns out to only have a few good songs and the rest is craptastic at best)

Peter- 08-26-2008

I think you screwed something up with your post Peter! :D Got very excited and lost my Ninja focus. Rectified it now.

That was almost ten fukkin' years ago!! I think you're digging up corpses here!

BLADE- 08-28-2008

Your right, but I guess that it still bothers me. Although i did dig up a corpse, i still think that everything since the Black Album sucks. But thats just my opinion. :P

BLADE- 08-28-2008

And I have listened to their more recent albums I just don't like the CD's.

Tomgoroth- 08-28-2008

That's ok, of course you're free to give your opinion. And luckily for you the two songs of Death Magnetic, which already got released, sound more like the stuff which they did prior to the black album as to the stuff which they did after the black album. But it irritates my that the whole napster thing is dug up in every MetallicA topic on the Internet. Even if the topic has nothing to do with it.

BLADE- 08-28-2008

Man I totally understand your point of view. I didn't want to bring it up but it came to mind, when i started to read the topic :)

Tomgoroth- 08-29-2008

Ok, thanks for understanding! Lets not bring it up again and talk about the new album from now on :D! Peter, posted a link to My Apocalypse, the third song previewed of Death Magnetic. It's also available for streaming from metallica.com. What do you think about that one? Sounds thrashy to me! I like it! I can't wait to hear this one (and also the other songs) in their final form, production/sound-quality-wise that is.

BLADE- 08-29-2008

I may give it a try after all. I haven't listened to them in a long time. Downloading now.

Tomgoroth- 08-29-2008

You can stream all three tracks from youtube and metallica.com. No downloading necessary!

BLADE- 08-29-2008

Cool I will do that instead.

METALLICA's 'Death Magnetic' Reviewed By TERRORIZER Magazine - Aug. 28, 2008 Stavros Pamballis of UK's Terrorizer magazine has just had an opportunity to listen to the new METALLICA album "Death Magnetic" in its entirety. His knee-jerk first impressions follow. "If you could timewarp back to 1983 with a copy of 'Death Magentic' in your hands and play it to the spotty, longhaired brats who'd just finished recording 'Kill 'Em All', they would have no problem at all recognizing themselves in its epic song structures, jaw-dropping guitar work (all buzzsaw guitars and face-melting solos) and sheer whiplash-inducing energy. In fact, they'd probably be impressed. That's right kids, for once, you can believe the hype: 'Your' METALLICA are back and they've brought their balls with them this time. "The album is so complex, so riddled with stops, starts, breakdowns and solos that, much like '…And Justice For All' it is virtually impossible to digest in one sitting but a few questions can be answered: "Is it thrash? Hell yes! At times anyway. Opener 'That Was Your Life' is the heaviest thing they've done since 'Battery' while 'All Nightmare Long' sounds like it was written by SLAYER. On the whole, the album feels like the missing link between '...And Justice For All' and 'The Black Album'. James' vocals, have something to do with this as he rarely uses the low growl of the early days, opting for the higher registers of the Bob Rock days. "How's the production? Runs rings around 'St Anger', but that's not saying much. Very strong on the whole but the drums are a little too high in the mix and the dynamics suffer as a result. Recalls the Black Album at times but with a hint of 'Reign In Blood'. "What are the highlights? Almost every song on this album is at the very least interesting. 'Judas Kiss' is an instant, moshpit-firendly classic while 'Unforgiven III' is the album's true epic ballad. Let's just say it blows both of its namesakes out of the water. "Okay...any negatives then? Lars Ulrich. The guy's limitations are laid bare by the spectacular guitar work on this album. "So, is it as good as the 'First Four'? Only time will tell... Probably not, but at least it sounds like it belongs to the same back catalogue as those albums. A METALLICA (written the old way) album through and through!"

Thirty second samples of all 10 songs from 'Death Magnetic' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQvDWdK_b1E

distorted_soul- 08-30-2008

wow just heard the samples. making me very excited. i just know its not gonna disappoint, but being great is another matter. and yeah, lars is the weakest link now. his drumming is so, hmm, un-evolved since he burst onto the scene with metallica. Like, he was great and all when metallica came out, but since then nothing. but yeah well he's achieved it all, and I havent so I shouldnt really be sitting here and criticizing.
