It just doesn't sound like Bloodbath for me. When I heared Akerfeldt had done vocals I expected stuff like RTC.

i think that's what they're trying to achieve with this new record, an evolution of the band. musically i fail to believe these guys are in the same place as they were YEARS ago. why make the same thing when you've learned so much from your career? i say good for them for choosing to spice things up.
EDIT: oh and also, no swano. :P
I found Opeth's new album quite boring since I was expecting a metal album.

they sound too much like despised icon and beneath the massacre now, with a hint of gay singing.
winds of plague-decimate the weak
when a singer has to yell "this is the 2008 shit!" in your cd, thats not a good sign.

erik rutan seemed to have spent all his production energy on other bands because it failed to shine through in this.
decrepit birth-diminishing between worlds
their brutal death metal sound was way better than the guitar wankery on their new stuff.

im an asshole about music and tend to delete more stuff rather than keep it, its really hard to find something unique and interesting nowadays.

Haha, I always think "this band needs 3 guitarists playing the exact same thing why?".
Coretopsy was probably my biggest disappointment in the past 5 years. I would say St. Anger was, but I wasn't a Metallica fan anymore when it came out.
So vary dissapointed in the new Opeth.

Cryptopsy was my biggest dissapointment.
I was expecting more from Arsis, Belphegor, Deicide, Hate Eternal.
Stuff i didnt like: Winds of Plague, Opeth.
Cryptopsy is easily the worst thus far.
While I definitely don't believe it to be the "worst" I found the new Keep Of Kalessin to be very disappointing compared to all of their previous works.
Decrepit Birth's new one has the total guitar wankfest thing going for it which is annoying.
Hate Eternal's new one was a big step back in terms of drumming.
